Research Technician II

A Research Technician position in the CBSET Pathology Department with the expectation of independent functionality and the ability to demonstrate a comfortable level of laboratory and histology skills in a GLP environment.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Expectations include but are not limited to:
  • Preparation/handling of biological fluids and execution of ex vivo assays to assess thrombogenicity
  • Preparation/handling of fixed tissue specimens and perform resin/paraffin processing and embedding, microtomy and staining
  • Generation of quality data/analysis/quality control in compliance with FDA GLP regulations
  • Documentation of work phases and equipment maintenance
  • Record organization, laboratory supply and reagent inventory and ordering
  • Digital photomicrography
  • Effective organizational, oral and written communication skills
  • Work effectively as a team member
  • Flexibility and willingness to perform other related duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school or GED required; Associates (AS) or Bachelor’s degree (BS) in science preferred
  • Histopathology laboratory experience preferred
  • ASCP certification preferred
  • Experience with MS Office software applications (Word, Excel, Power Point) and digital camera equipment
